Color: Tiger's eye usually has rich yellow and golden brown stripes, with a fine golden
lustre when polished. A more reddened variation is also found. Description: Tiger's eye is
quartz that cotains oriented forms of crocodolite that have been replaced by silica. Tiger's eye displays chatoyancy (a
vertical luminescent band like that of a cat's ). Tiger's eye typically has lustrous bands of yellow or
brown bands. The names origin: The bands of the stone resemble the eye of a tiger, so it received
